Aside on an Old Incident

This photo was taken by me, who had just fallen into a crevasse in the Death Trap area near Lake Louise. I had probed with my ice ax, but I had not probed very well: note the small hole made by the ice ax. Fortunately I landed, about 40 feet down, on a snow ledge. After getting Sandy Kline to haul my pack out, I was able to walk out the end of the crevasse. I was wearing a helmet. The only injury I sustained was a black eye.
